We are excited to carry on the tradition of operating a business that has spanned four generations, in our location in Langley. We look forward to help people begin, or continue to lead healthier lives. “Although we believe in making a living with the business, its not just about making money” stresses manager Li-Ping Liang. “We are interested in educating our customers, so they can help themselves and by us finding ways to help them. “We want to listen to their health concerns and problems and then do our best to serve them” The Valley Health tradition is one of basing the business on personal relationships, rather than simply retailer-to- customer interaction. “when we talk to people and then asses their concerns, we forget about the career or business side, and work from the heart”

We are proud to carry on the tradition of the founder Mrs. Florence Hogg and her son George who opened one of the first bona fide natural food stores in 1964. Florence was a long time Langley resident who won the CHFA’s woman of the year in 1989. Earlier in Edmonton she founded the Canadian Health League, and as a director and spokesperson, began a regular radio talk show on nutrition and health. She also held cooking lesson supers on vegetarian meals and taught nutrition at night school; unfortunately, she passed away, at age 85.

Other owners followed, including the Steeves and Debb families. Manager/owner Dennis Debb, who also followed Florence’s passion, had been the owner since 1985. Dennis retire from the business in June 15, 2003, after building and adding to the stores many relationships, with many loyal customers.

We are confident we are carrying of this fine tradition and hope we don’t ever let our customers down in our service to them. We do this by striving to research products and health questions, bring in new products, and improve training, product lines and customer service. Thank you to all current customers and we also hope to be of help to new customers and the new generations, needing guidance.
